Image Longevity

To test the image permanence of prints that are stored in an album, we use an accelerated testing method as how the image permanence of silver-halide photo papers are measured when stored in dark places. Print samples are printed with the optical density of 1.0 (each Bk, C, M,Y). The samples are kept in a certain environment of high temperature and 50% humidity. The rate of the decrease in the optical density and rate of yellow discoloration are recorded. The recorded results are then converted to the length of time when print image is kept in an environment of 23?/ 50% humidity.

An internal zooming ability allows the focal length to be adjusted without the over-all length of the lens changing. Filters, such as circular polarizers and other special effects, can be used, and thanks to the internal focusing mechanism the filter will not move during focusing.
The AF 193 handles and travels easily due to its compact design and lightweight materials. Which is important because now you can have the benefits of a super-wide angle zoom lens with you all the time!

When used on digital SLR cameras the AT-X M35 PRO DX lens gives the same angle of view as a 52mm lens. The close focusing distance of the M35 is an amazingly close 5.5 in. (14cm) yielding a macro ratio of 1:1 or life-sized reproduction with excellent sharpness. Its compact size makes it easy to carry almost everywhere and the wide f/2.8 aperture allows for easier viewing in low light situations.
The front element of the AT-X M35 PRO DX has a newly formulated WR or Water Repellent" optical coating on the glass. This new coating makes marks such as spots left by water or finger-prints much easier to clean than standard multi-coating.**
Tokinas exclusive One-touch Focus Clutch Mechanism allows the photographer to switch between AF and MF simply by snapping the focus ring forward for AF and back toward the camera to focus manually. There is no need to change the AF-MF switch on Nikon cameras*** and there is no second AF/MF switch on the lens for Canon, everything is accomplished by the focus ring.
