Great Photos Everytime - Intelligent Auto Technology
Panasonic incorporated the Intelligent Auto mode in pursuit of the ultimate ease of operation and the reduction of misshots. Mega O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) to compensate for hand-shake and Intelligent ISO Control to detect and suppress motion blur are built into all Lumix cameras, as the industry's most advanced countermeasures against blurring. Both image stabilizing technologies have been further advanced in detection accuracy and correction effect thanks to the new image-processing LSI, Venus Engine IV.
In addition to these two paramount anti-blurring technologies, Panasonic continues pursuing the ideal that anyone at any technical level of photography should be able to take beautiful pictures with ease, by incorporating the Intelligent Auto mode. Increasing the number of scene modes is one thing and taking advantage of them is another, and that's where the Intelligent Scene Selector comes in. It automatically sets the appropriate scene mode according to the scene you're going to take from among the most frequently used scene modes, such as Portrait, Scenery, Macro, Night Scenery and Night Portrait mode. The Face Detection system helps the camera to recognize human faces and to focus and set the exposure automatically. Up to 15 faces can be recognized simultaneously. The Quick AF system allows the camera to keep focusing on the subject even without pressing the shutter button halfway, to get the best results from every shooting opportunity by minimizing the AF time.
These multi-capable functions happen automatically, so you can shoot without the bother of adjusting settings every time conditions change - the powerful Intelligent Auto Mode does all the work for you. You can enjoy easy, trouble-free shooting in any situation and get the satisfaction that comes with capturing clear, beautiful images.
Advanced 3.0-inch large intelligent LCD with 460,000-dot high resolution for easy shooting and playback
TheTZ15 incorporates a large 3.0", 460,000-dot high-resolution LCD screen for clear playback of shots and footage. Intelligent LCD function detects light conditions and automatically adjusts LCD backlighting (a maximum of 40% when shooting outdoors in bright sunshine and by adjusting frame rates when shooting in low-lit situations) as well as using the pixel mixed readout method to ensure the clearest possible image is captured. Detecting precise lighting conditions and automatically controlling brightness levels with a total of 11 steps, allows this function to produce the clearest possible image in any situation.
The High Angle mode makes the LCD screen extremely easy to view when the camera is held high, for example when shooting over a crowd.
High-Speed, High-Quality Image-Processing LSI Further Evolves into the Venus Engine IV
New image-processing LSI, the Venus Engine IV, features more advanced signal processing technology for rendering even higher-quality images.
Parallel noise reduction in both luminance signal and chromatic signal processing systems, a technology established by the preceding Venus Engine III, has been further advanced. The luminance noise is two-dimensionally separated and only the low-frequency noise is eliminated without affecting the high-frequency noise that greatly influences resolution. The information of the change point between colours is minutely stored for precise determination of edges dramatically reducing colour bleeding. This not only produces a clearer image in high ISO sensitivity recording, but also accurately reproduces details in low-lit areas of pictures taken at low ISO sensitivity.
The Venus Engine IV also elevates the detection accuracy and corrective effect in both Mega O.I.S., which prevents hand-shake, and Intelligent ISO Control, which minimises motion blurring. These new cameras feature the multi-task image-processing engine, Venus Engine IV which supports an incredibly fast response time. The shutter release time lag is a very quick 0.008 seconds enabling users to capture those spur-of-the-moment shots easily.
Newly incorporated into the TZ15 Intelligent Auto Function is Intelligent Exposurethat increases exposure only in under-exposed areas by detecting the brightness level part-by-part in the picture. For example if the background of an image includes sky, theTZ15 automatically adjusts the aperture and shutter speed to keep the setting slightly under-exposed. This prevents a washed-out,dullness common with some cameras, as it brightens the area by only increasing the ISO in that area. If the background of an indoor portrait receives insufficient lighting from a flash and becomes dark, the ISO sensitivity is raised only in the low-lit area to make the image brighter without causing graininess in the subject's face, resulting in a well balanced picture.
The multi-capable functions are automatic and allow for shooting without the bother of adjusting the settings every time conditions change as the powerful Intelligent Auto Mode does all the work.

Making every user a photographer with Intelligent mode
Panasonic incorporates both MEGA O.I.S.(Optical Image Stabilizer) to compensate for hand-shake and Intelligent ISO Control system to detect and suppress motion blur into all Lumix cameras, which are the industry?s most advanced countermeasures against blurring.
While hand-shake is the single biggest cause of blurry images, it is not the only one. Another problem is the motion blur that can occur when a subject moves as the shot is being snapped. Incorporating Panasonic's Intelligent ISO Control, Lumix cameras are the first in the world to fight motion blur by themselves. This system detects whether or not the subject is moving. If it is, the system automatically raises the ISO setting accordingly, allowing the camera to shoot at a higher shutter speed. If the subject is not moving, the camera shoots at a low ISO setting and captures beautiful, natural-looking images. Intelligent ISO Control is included as one of the corrections in certain scene modes used to shoot subjects that are often moving, such as Sports, Baby and the Pet mode. Simply select the mode that best suits the subject, and Intelligent ISO Control provides the optimal corrections, making it easy to capture crisp, clear photos.
One more convenient function is the Auto Macro mode which automatically switches the camera in and out of macro mode by measuring the focusing distance.
The Quick AF system allows the camera to keep focus on the subject even without pressing a shutter button halfway, to get best result out of a shutter chance by minimizing the AF time. All these intelligent functions act automatically, requiring no additional setting so the photographer can concentrate on taking the spur-of-the-moment.
High-quality, high-performance image processing LSI: the Venus Engine III
With its multi-task image processing capability, the Venus Engine III boasts outstanding response time. Shutter release time lag is as short as 0.005 second. Great Optics - LUMIX DC Vario F2.8, 33-100mm Lens
Features & Benefits
Bright, superb f2.8 Lumix DC VARIO lens with Extra Optical Zoom function
The 8.1-megapixel DMC-LS80 packages a superb LUMIX DC VARIO lens with 3x optical zoom(35mm film camera equivalent: 33-100mm) into a compact body. A crystallization of Panasonic?s advanced lens technologies, the LUMIX DC VARIO lens comprises 6 elements in 5 groups, including 3 aspherical lenses with 4 aspherical surfaces, delivering outstanding optical performance. Further, in 3-megapixel resolution mode, the Extra Optical Zoom function provides additional magnification, extending the zoom power to 4.8x by using the centre part of the CCD.
The Easy Zoom feature shifts the lens instantly to full 3x optical zoom power at a touch of a dedicated button, and with a second touch, the zoom ratio is further extended to 4.8x by activating the Extra Optical Zoom function*.
*When the picture size is set to 3-megapixel or larger, the photo is automatically resized to 3-megapixel. When the lens is shifted back to the wide-end, the picture size is set to the original size automatically. The original size is maintained for photos smaller than 3-megapixel.
In the consecutive shooting mode, it is possible to shoot at 2.5 frames per second in full resolution**. And in High-Speed Burst shooting mode***, it fires off an incredible 5.5 shots per second. You also get unlimited consecutive shooting which lets you keep snapping until the memory card is full ****.
The Venus Engine III also supports a new High Sensitivity mode that lets the DMC-LS80 record at a setting of up to ISO 6400, sensitive enough to capture subjects in near-total darkness without using a flash*****.
*Max. 7 images in standard mode / 4 images in fine mode. ** In 2-megapixel(4:3), 2.5-megapixel(3:2), 2-megapixel(16:9) recording *** The speed of the consecutive shooting varies depending on the memory card. The number of recordable pictures depends on the memory card size, battery life, picture size and image compression. **** In 3-megapixel(4:3), 2.5-megapixel(3:2), 2-megapixel(16:9) recording
2.5" large, 230,000-dot high-resolution Intelligent LCD for easy shooting and playback
The DMC-LS80 incorporates an easy-to-see 2.5-inch large Intelligent LCD for comfortable viewing during both shooting and playback. The resolution has been doubled compared to the predecessor DMC-LS75, to boast 230,000-dot high resolution. The Intelligent LCD function detects the light condition and automatically boosts the LCD backlighting by max. 40% when shooting outdoors in bright sunshine, and adjusts the frame rate when shooting in low-lit situations in addition to using the pixel mixed readout method to secure clarity in such situations. Detecting the lighting condition precisely and automatically controls the brightness at a total of 12 fine steps, this function offers the display with best appropriate clarity in any situations without using extra energy.
The High Angle mode, which can be accessed quickly and easily in Quick Menu, makes the LCD screen extremely easy to view when the camera is held high, such as to shoot over a crowd.

Advanced O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabiliser)
Panasonic's O.I.S., which uses gyrosensors to detect hand-shake and shifts the lens unit to correctly align the optical axis, has been further improved to prevent blur even more effectively. The Advanced O.I.S. checks and compensates for hand-shake around 4,000 times per second. Because this is an optical system, there is no loss of quality, resulting in images that are captured in all of their original beauty. Advanced O.I.S. prevents the subtle blurring that can be caused by even a slight bit of hand-shake, and it is truly necessary in an age of large-screen, high-resolution TVs, when every image imperfection is easily visible.

Sony HDRCX12 Handycam - Memory Stick, Full HD 1080i, 12x Optical Zoom, 2.7" LCD, Image Stabilisation
HD 10MP MEM STICK HANDYCAM 4GB+8GB MS HDRCX12MS
Smile Shutter HDRCX12 is the 1st camcorder in the world to introduce Smile Shutter technology! Simply point the Handycam at a smiling face and it will automatically capture a high resolution still image. When recording video, CX12 automatically captures JPEGs of your loved ones every time they smile!
10.2 Mega Pixel Still Image Capture with flash & red eye reduction HDRCX12 allows you to capture spectacular 10.2 Mega Pixel still images when in dedicated still mode with flash! You can also record a 7.2 Mega Pixel still image at the same time as recording full motion video! The HDRCX12 even supports red eye reduction, meaning your full High Definition Handycam can also double as a high end still camera.
Face Detection Face Detection technology ensures that family and friends captured with HDRCX12 are always shown at their best! When the camera detects a human face it automatically adjusts focus, colour control and brightness to ensure that faces are always clear and sharp. Face Detection also works in group shots, with up to 8 faces being tracked at once.
Manual Shooting Function Camera Control Dial Easily assign a variety of camera settings to the Manual button and adjust them with the Camera Control Dial for smooth manual operation.
Zoom Microphone The built in Zoom Microphone automatically "zooms" the lens and microphone at the same time. Zooming in on one person in a large crowd will increase the cameras sensitivity to their voice, while other sounds will not be as prominent. The Zoom Microphone closely resembles the natural human experience, where moving closer to a particular object increases the sensitivity to the sound coming from that location.
Film Roll Index and Face Index By enabling Film Roll Index it's possible to preview the beginning of scenes and create scene indexes set at specified display intervals (3, 6, or 12 seconds and 1 or 5 minutes) perfect for seeing what was recorded in a long take. This Handycam also features Face Index, allowing you to begin playing scenes simply by pressing the human faces detected during shooting.

Best selling image-stabilised digital SLR camera series gets even better
The exciting new Olympus E-520 represents a significant performance upgrade with an extensive range of important new hardware and feature improvements, providing the digital SLR photographer with even better imaging quality and wider creative flexibility.
New image sensor chip delivers even better picture quality
A new improved 10 megapixel LiveMos image sensor with an enhanced version of Olympus' renowned Truepic III image engine delivers a significantly improved dynamic range approaching that of the top of the line E-3 professional model with improved colour detail and noise levels.
Faster onboard data processing technology gives the E-520 a 3.5 frames per second shooting capability that's the fastest in its class.
New LiveView autofocus technology for intuitive AF operation
The E-520 features the new high-speed Imager AF (or contrast detect AF) first found in the E-420 model. This ensures that AF operation in LiveView mode is as easy to use as half-pressing the shutter release button.
For the fastidious photographer who wants the ability to use Phase Detect AF in LiveView, this option is available as a menu option.
Do more with Olympus LiveView
As the pioneer of LiveView in digital SLR cameras, Olympus is the leader in digital SLR LiveView technology and the E-520 allows even more versatility in operation.
The new Perfect Shot Preview feature provides the learning photographer with a 'four-in-one' on-screen preview of either exposure compensation or white balance compensation options. The user simply scrolls through the range of compensation examples and selects the best picture making optimal exposure and white balance decisions simple and convenient. Normal real-time preview of white balance, exposure compensation, histogram and depth of field is now standard.
Face Detect technology improves portrait photography by enhancing AF accuracy as well as optimising exposure for faces. Up to 8 faces may be detected. The powerful new detection algorithm permits detection of tilted or inverted faces and even side facial profiles!
Shadow Adjust can also be previewed accurately on the large LCD screen meaning that good pictures can be taken even in difficult to manage high lighting contrast situations.
A new larger LCD screen that shows you a truer picture
The E-520 sports a new 2.7 inch LCD screen with significantly better dynamic range and colour reproduction than that found in the previous model. Improved Hypercrystal II technology provides a significantly clearer wide angle preview and picture playback accuracy to make LiveView and LCD usage even more enjoyable.
A 7-10x digital zoom magnifier with a user movable magnifying frame helps to provide precise focus for accurate macro-photography, even for off-center close-up subjects.
For underwater photography use, independent screen colour balance adjustment is now possible, significantly improving preview accuracy thus making LiveView usage beneath the water an even better experience.
In-body Image Stabiliser gets more versatile
Olympus was the first digital SLR manufacturer to prove that built-in body image stabiliser technology could match and even surpass the capabilities of image-stabilised lenses for shake-reduction with the remarkable E-510. Like the E-510 an Olympus-designed Image Stabiliser unit using supersonic wave technology provides for up to 4 EV steps of image stabilisation capability, making handheld telephoto lens shooting and lower light photography without flash convenient and practical.
Without image-stabilisation components in the lens, lenses can be made more compact and lighter. The inconvenience and added expense of having to purchase dedicated stabilised lenses is completely eliminated.
The new E-520 takes the image-stabilisation capability further in two new ways. A new third IS mode allows for pan-stabilised photography with the camera body held vertically. Secondly, users of legacy Olympus OM lenses who want IS benefits when using the E-520 with such lenses via the MF-1 lens mount adapter can simply dial in their OM lens focal lengths to activate correct image stabilisation.
Improved Automatic White Balance
A new improved Automatic White Balance algorithm ensures better results with greater colour compensation consistency, especially in mixed lighting.
Professional quality wireless flash capability
The new E-520 features wireless flash control of the latest FL-50R and FL-36R strobe units. Up to three groups of these flashes may be combined for outstanding flash results without fuss. Wireless flash control is activated using the built in flash of the camera, eliminating the need for an external wireless slave controller.
What dust?
The tried and tested Olympus Supersonic Wave dust-reduction system has been acknowledged in independent tests to be the best dust reducing system in the world. A proven combination of dust reduction technologies ensure that great images can be captured with the E-520 without having to waste time in post-capture to eliminate black spots.
Even the kit lenses are terrific!
All experienced photographers know that a camera is really only as good as the lenses that are used with it.
The Olympus "Zuiko Digital" lens catalog features the industry's biggest lineup of lenses specifically designed to maximise the capability of the image sensor chip, providing the photographer with the widest range of digital lens options, with (35mm film-equivalent) focal lengths that range from an ultra-wide 14mm to a super-telephoto 600mm.
Unlike many film-specific lenses still used with many digital SLR cameras today, all Olympus digital lenses are designed to focus light optimally onto the camera's image sensor with their unique telecentric designs, ensuring that picture quality is highly uniform from the centre to the edges of the picture. High sharpness and contrast across wide and narrow apertures characterise each Olympus digital lens, ensuring maximum picture quality under all lighting conditions. These high quality characteristics prevail across the Super Pro, Pro and Standard range of Zuiko Digital lenses, ensuring maximum value and performance right across the range.
Independent lens test reviews have proven the superiority of the Olympus dedicated digital lens design approach. The 'entry-level' Zuiko Digital 14-42mm and 40-150 lenses in the E-520 kits exceed the performance of many other starter lenses and even some mid-range optics!
For the intrepid traveller, nature or sport enthusiast photographer who wants an image-stabilised camera system with minimal size and weight, the new Zuiko Digital 9-18mm Ultra-Wide angle lens combined with our best selling 70-300mm Super Telephoto lens represents an amazing DSLR package: An astounding 18-600mm range (an approximate 33X zoom capability) in the traditional 35mm format can be had with just these two lenses!
